this 496-paged, hardback with felt material and gold trimmed book cost me a good $73.75 and i finally completed reading it today! this uncut version consists of famous tales told by the beautiful storyteller shahrazad herself to entertain king shahriyar for 1,001 nights - as well as save her life.

i cant wait for the seven books i purchased from book depository!

shall start reading on those i got from the islamic book fair yesterday.

good morning! (at least for me!)

1. just got up from my 12-hour slumber, which i really needed, after pulling off an all-nighter to complete my essay.

2. one of the most meaningful speeches i heard was penned down, and made by cikgu rosza during her last lecture yesterday afternoon - it left most of the girls in that lecture theater teary.

3. loved the lepak session at simpang bedok with the girls and especially the food at spize!

4. i have always thought alyph sleeQ was short - in pictures, music videos and concerts. after bumping into him at simpang bedok, he is not that small, i guess its syarif sleeQ who is really tall.

5. the three hour phone conversation with him last night brought back really fond memories and left me hanging with "what ifs". and i was reminded again, how i am the stupidest person, ever. i fell asleep with him on my mind.

6. dinner at downtown east tonight with the other 18, i spent my 2 years with.

7. to complete weekly reflections by tonight.

8. next week's reality check.

on another note:

on that past tuesday in school, we had to dress up according to a music genre of our choice and attend the lyric writing workshop. it had been quite some time since i had dressed up and i enjoyed every bit of it! we squeezed into one of the huge toilet cubicles, and together with amirah, got dressed and made up.

why don't you have a go at guessing what music genre each of us were dressed for? (:

there is nothing more that i love than having a stimulating conversation with friends. in 5 hours at macs, lunch, multiple drinks and a toilet break, i shared my past, we shared our fears and build dreams together. moments like this make me feel so fortunate that i have such amazing girlfriends, they make me feel like i can overcome almost anything.

thank you God for introducing me to the loveliest, most beautiful girls in the world, each an every one of them in their very own unique way - all the way back since 11 August 2009. alhamdulillah.





footnote: i nearly dropped my handphone bill after seeing how much i chalked up in international calls, smses and data roaming usage during my holidays - its a record breaker.

krabi january 2011.

























i thought of posting this up before it got stale and before i get too busy with school. these pictures are merely highlights of the trip, more are up on my facebook! merely 4 days after my amazing turkey trip, it was a getaway on new year's day, to krabi with my favouritest girls! (sans sha and ain) i felt like a complete jet-setting traveller - packing after unpacking.

we landed ourselves in the southern part of thailand and the weather was a complete extreme to turkey - sunny and hot, perfect beach weather. we felt like we were in malaysia - the roads, surroundings and we were even more pleasantly surprised to see many women donning the headscarf. they looked like malays too, so we had no problems blending right in! this may be due to the fact that krabi is very near to northern malaysia itself.

ben's house provided us with breakfast and bed for all 5 days and it was a pleasant stay. the rooms were clean, amenities were complete except for a few glitches, the air conditioning, shower head and plumbing. we cant complain for the price we paid for accommodation. it was a breeze to find halal food there, since there are quite a number of muslims there. no doubt their food was awesome, especially their tom yum (seeing that we were at the country of origin), however, none could satisfy ila's high threshold of spicy food.

i had a chance to experience the most beautiful, breath-taking beaches ever, during our day trip to the phi phi islands. snorkling was a first for me and i enjoyed myself tremendously. we also had the experience to watch a real muay thai fighting competition at the arena. we ended our trip with an entire day out shopping, in which most of us went crazy at the good deals and aim to finish our baht.

in all, it was an enjoyable trip, but what made it so much more memorable was the amazingly wonderful company i had, who had to put up with me for 5 entire days. and i know it wasn't easy. ♥
