there is nothing more that i love than having a stimulating conversation with friends. in 5 hours at macs, lunch, multiple drinks and a toilet break, i shared my past, we shared our fears and build dreams together. moments like this make me feel so fortunate that i have such amazing girlfriends, they make me feel like i can overcome almost anything.

thank you God for introducing me to the loveliest, most beautiful girls in the world, each an every one of them in their very own unique way - all the way back since 11 August 2009. alhamdulillah.





footnote: i nearly dropped my handphone bill after seeing how much i chalked up in international calls, smses and data roaming usage during my holidays - its a record breaker.

krabi january 2011.

























i thought of posting this up before it got stale and before i get too busy with school. these pictures are merely highlights of the trip, more are up on my facebook! merely 4 days after my amazing turkey trip, it was a getaway on new year's day, to krabi with my favouritest girls! (sans sha and ain) i felt like a complete jet-setting traveller - packing after unpacking.

we landed ourselves in the southern part of thailand and the weather was a complete extreme to turkey - sunny and hot, perfect beach weather. we felt like we were in malaysia - the roads, surroundings and we were even more pleasantly surprised to see many women donning the headscarf. they looked like malays too, so we had no problems blending right in! this may be due to the fact that krabi is very near to northern malaysia itself.

ben's house provided us with breakfast and bed for all 5 days and it was a pleasant stay. the rooms were clean, amenities were complete except for a few glitches, the air conditioning, shower head and plumbing. we cant complain for the price we paid for accommodation. it was a breeze to find halal food there, since there are quite a number of muslims there. no doubt their food was awesome, especially their tom yum (seeing that we were at the country of origin), however, none could satisfy ila's high threshold of spicy food.

i had a chance to experience the most beautiful, breath-taking beaches ever, during our day trip to the phi phi islands. snorkling was a first for me and i enjoyed myself tremendously. we also had the experience to watch a real muay thai fighting competition at the arena. we ended our trip with an entire day out shopping, in which most of us went crazy at the good deals and aim to finish our baht.

in all, it was an enjoyable trip, but what made it so much more memorable was the amazingly wonderful company i had, who had to put up with me for 5 entire days. and i know it wasn't easy. ♥

fate has an incredible way of jolting memories, keeping them fresh and alive. bumped into a fragment of my memory last evening and i felt the world spin. almost 5 years later, he was still the looker and charmer.

turkey 2010

these are only a few out of the 7,000 photographs in which we brought home as memories of our 9 day turkey trip, from 5 different cameras. the pictures are not in order of the places we visited and more are up on my facebook.

turkey, in short, was beautiful. i'm an adrenaline-rush enthusiast and despite the lack of adrenaline pumping activities, i loved the trip all the same and i wish we could have stayed there for longer. i fell in love with the cool weather (ranging from 0-18 deg), God's creation of picturesque landscapes, majestic monuments and mosques, turkey's rich culture and history, their friendly people, the beautiful, chubby and tame felines and of course the delicious food.

i tipped the weighing scale back at home and i gained 2kg throughout our stay in turkey. we were fed like kings! the trip there gave me a chance to catch up on my reading, and i found myself soaking in the bathtub of tripolis hotel, pamukkale, and completing elif shafak's 'the bastard of istanbul'. how ironic! it was a brutally honest and realistic read - i did not realise that i had stayed in the tub for 3 hours and came out with my toes all wrinkled.

my only regret was that we did not get to experience the hot air balloon ride over the breathtaking landscapes of cappadocia. it was quite costly (at USD 190) and even if we parted with that amount, the weather for that day was not suitable for the sky balloon ride. or else, it would have been a once in a lifetime, mind blowing experience.

i would definitely want to come back, i miss turkey already. maybe we'll head to troy next.
